Lay Ministries

Altar Guild

Altar Guild members prepare, care for and clean the altar and items used in connection with our worship.  Members are part of a team responsible for all services during one week period every month.  Contact Shirley Waddill at stgeorgesw@gmail or 719-635-7951.

Chalice Bearers

Chalice Bearers assist the clergy by serving the wine to communicants during the Eucharist. Training is provided.  Contact Rob Harris:  robert.harris.ctr.us.af.mil or 719-964-2892

Hosts

The friendly people at entrances and throughout the building, wearing purple ribbons welcome parishioners and visitors, provide directions and introduce newcomers to clergy and church members.  Hosts have the privilege of meeting new people first! Lectors

Lectors read the scripture lessons for all services.  Training is provided.  Lectors are scheduled on a rotating basis with an effort made to schedule people for the service they customarily attend.  Contact Ken Emery: 576.3577 or kemery67@comcast.net

Music Program

Vocalists and instrumentalists of all ages are welcome for participation in the  St. George music ministry.  Enjoy the satisfaction of enhancing and leading worship.  Contact Rob Howard: 494.2213 or rhoward@ecaeagles.org

Transportation

Be a special blessing!  Be appreciated! Be a volunteer providing rides on a rotating basis for parish members who need transportation to attend Sunday services.  Contact Sue Spears at 434-3364 or stgeorgiegirl@gmail.com

Ushers

Ushers are the “face” of St. George’s Church and are responsible for many  aspects of Sunday worship.  Ushers welcome service attendees, distribute service leaflets, collect the offering gifts of worship and register attendance.  Ushers get to know parishioners and expand their personal friendship circle.  Contact Ed Montgomery: 488.2751 or edmontusaf@gmail.com
